Matthew McConaughey Plastic Surgery Before and After Pictures

Matthew McConaughey has graced the screens since the 1993 role in “Dazed and Confused” that put him on the map.  Since then, he has gone on to numerous nominations and awards for his various acting roles. The most memorable was his role as Ron Woodroof in the film, “Dallas Buyers Club” that saw him lose more than three stone dropping from his muscular 13st 1lb that helped make him People Magazine’s “Sexiest Man Alive” in 2005 to a rawboned 9st 9lbs. His dedication to his new roles in the McConaissance era that started in 2012 has earned him critical claim and shown him cast in newer, better roles. His appearance which had made him King of the Romantic Comedies for a decade has been bolstered by a little help from plastic surgery. McConaughey who by 1999 had started balding flaunted a full-headed mane in 2005 which ignited rumors of his plastic surgery.

Matthew McConaughey Before and After Photos

Photos of Matthew McConaughey circa 1999 showed a dramatically dwindling hairline and even in the 2009 production, “Ghosts of Girlfriends Past” where he appeared beside the beautiful Jennifer Garner as Conner Mead, the successful photographer and Casanova, McConaughey was still battling a receding hairline. However, this turned around and in 2005, he regained his hair and the baldness that had begun creeping had been banished, which is no wonder he was named the sexiest man alive. Photos of him looking dapper after his win in the 2014 Oscars showed his coiffed hair looking amazing and showing no signs of balding or thinning out. In an interview with David Letterman, McConaughey once claimed that the new growth was thanks to the use of Regenix, a topical biopharmaceutical.

Plastic Surgery Speculations

Dr. Alan Bauman, a hair restoration expert voiced his opinion on Matthew McConaughey’s hair stating that physicians agree that nothing can grow hair on skin that’s balding except with the use of hair transplantation. He said that the star’s hair had been on the rebound and could only be as a result of transplant as even with propecia which has been shown to 90% of the time to prevent further hair loss, re-growth is not possible.

Plastic Surgery Procedure

The expert said that transplant procedures today are performed almost artistically by mimicking the wavy and somehow random nature of a natural hairline making it undetectable. The procedure can even be done without the use of a scalpel instead taking advantage of minimally-invasive techniques. FUE for instance involves extracting individual hair follicles or a group of them without the need for a linear harvest thereby preventing a “plug-looking” finish.

Rumors of Facelift

Some in the entertainment industry have speculated that Matthew McConaughey plastic surgery includes facelift as the star does not look his age. The 45 year old continues to look dashing and has appeared among the top in lists of hottest men over 40 and makes a beautiful couple with his model wife, Camila Alves. Others however contribute his good looks to genes and a healthy lifestyle but we can still wonder.

Surgery Results

The noticeable contrast between the balding McConaughey of 1999 and the star who was a sensation at the 2014 Oscars with his little gold man wins and full-bodied hair cannot be disputed. There is no arguing that whatever he did clearly worked and worked well!
